Oliver has focussed his practice on courtroom litigation and negotiation. Oliver has extensive courtroom and administrative tribunal experience appearing in Provincial Court and Superior Court (Queens Bench) throughout Ontario and Alberta.

Oliver's legal experience began in 2005 where he was employed with a criminal firm in the Durham region in Ontario. His legal path led him to Edmonton, Alberta where he attended law school and subsequently began his practice. During his time at the University of Alberta, Oliver was extensively involved with Student Legal Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal assistance to the low-income community in greater Edmonton. Oliver volunteered and was later hired by Student Legal Services and was responsible for and supervised hundreds of criminal law cases. Oliver continued his volunteer work with Student Legal Services while being employed by a boutique litigation law firm during his final year of law school. Oliver subsequently articled with that same firm and was licensed with Law Society of Alberta.

Oliver joined McGillen Keay in the fall of 2011 when he transferred from Alberta and is licensed with the Law Society of Upper Canada in Ontario. Oliver has represented clients in all areas of civil litigation including personal injury, wrongful dismissal, estate litigation and commercial disputes, and all small claims court actions. Oliver has successfully defended his clients in all areas of criminal law including, assault, drug offences, impaired driving, theft, fraud, youth offences and serious traffic violations. Oliver can help you navigate through the complex and often overwhelming area of Family law including the drafting of separation agreements, the negotiation of custody and access along with all other family property related matters involving court or otherwise.
